1. Provision of Service

We provide a browser extension that extracts YouTube transcripts in‑browser, injects them into ChatGPT along with your custom prompt, and automatically submits for you to generate concise, time‑stamped summaries.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the Extension, you affirm you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction and you accept and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.

3. License Grant & Restrictions

License Grant: We grant you a non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension in accordance with these Terms.

Restrictions:

• Reverse‑engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Extension.
• Distribute, sell, sublicense, or otherwise make the Extension available to third parties.
• Modify the Extension except as permitted by Google's policies.
• Use the Extension for any unlawful purpose.

4. User Content & Custom Prompts

Your custom prompt templates and any data you enter into the Extension remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your prompts or transcripts.

5. Third‑Party Services

The Extension integrates with YouTube's public caption API and the ChatGPT web interface. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of those third‑party platforms.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE EXTENSION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE EXTENSION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $5.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless YouTube Summarizer and its officers, agents, and employees from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Extension or any violation of these Terms.

9. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, YouTube Summarizer, or third parties.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, U.S.A., without regard‑of‑law principles.

12. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and YouTube Summarizer relating to the subject matter herein and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
